JXMSRI UAV is a micro air vehicle (MAV) developed by Jiangxi Provincial Meteorological Science Research Institute (JXMSRI, 江西省气象科学研究所) for weather reconnaissance mission, and it has entered service with People's Liberation Army Nanjing Military Region. JXMSRI MAV is capable of both remotely piloted and autonomous flight, and carries numerous scientific instruments including fully digitized radiosonde and other equipment needed for weather reconnaissance mission. The onboard GPS navigation system also feeds to onboard scientific research equipment. The UAV has a conventional layout with twin-tail configuration. Propulsion is provided by a two-blade pusher engine installed behind the main wing, and it has a 4-wheel landing gear system.[1] The complete name for this UAV is Micro UAV Radiosonde System (Wei-Xing Wu-Ren Jia-Shi Fei-Ji Tan-Kong Xi-Tong, 微型无人驾驶飞机探空系统)[2] Specification:[3]
