The Kawasaki KLR600 is a dual-sport motorcycle that is intended for on or off-road riding. It was introduced in 1984[1] and competed with the Honda XR600, Suzuki DR600 and Yamaha XT 600. It was introduced as a kickstart only motorcycle using KACR (Kawasaki Automatic Compression Release. The next year electric start was added.[2] It utilizes a single cylinder, four stroke, DOHC (dual overhead cam) engine. It was replaced by the Kawasaki KLR650.
