Engineering:MekaMon
MekaMon is a four-legged, intelligent, gaming robot, developed by Nigerian inventor Silas Adekunle through his startup Reach Robotics.
Technology and function
Released in 2017, MekaMon is recognised as the world's first consumer-graded gaming robot designed to smoothly integrate physical robotics with augmented reality (AR).[1][2]
The robot features four fully-programmable legs, built-in sensors including accelerometers, gyroscopes, infrared tracking, Bluetooth LE connectivity, and an onboard processor.[3] It is a controlled via a mobile app, which allows players to engage in physical and AR-enhanced battles.[4]
Beyond entertainment, MekaMon was designed with educational applications, with its coding interface allowing users to program the robot with simplified scripting tools.[5]
