The VinFast VF8 (former name VinFast VF e35, VinFast VF32) is a mid-size crossover electric SUV manufactured and marketed by VinFast of Vingroup from 2022.

Overview

The VF8 model made its debut in the second half of January 2021 as part of the model lineup of the Vietnamese automaker VinFast among electric cars, which was also an introduction to global expansion.[4]

Like the smaller VF6 and larger VF9, the VF8 is a crossover with round proportions combining chrome ornaments with a double strip of headlamps in the front of the body. Narrow LED daytime running lights are separated by a chrome bar, under which the rest of the headlamps are located.[5]

The dashboard has a two-colour aesthetic, distinguished by avant-garde designed switches of driving modes in the centre tunnel, as well as a large touch display of the multimedia system.[6]

First, VinFast will start collecting orders for the VF8 in September 2021 in the domestic Vietnamese market, delivering the first copies in February 2022. The vehicle will also be part of the VinFast expansion on global markets, going on sale in June 2022, among others in Europe, Australia , and the United States .[7]

The VF8 is available in two drive variants, both of which are powered by a 90 kWh battery, which provides a range of approximately 500 kilometres (310 mi) on a single charge. There are differences in power - the basic version develops 204 hp (152 kW; 207 PS), and the more powerful 408 hp (304 kW; 414 PS).[6] The first batteries usd in the VF8 are from Samsung SDI.[8]
