The Volkswagen ID.5 is an electric coupé SUV produced by the German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen for the European market.[1][2] It is based on the VW electric MEB platform, and is heavily based on the ID.4.[1] The ID.5 was previewed in August 2021, and scheduled to be in production from 2022.[1] Pilot production has already started in Volkswagen's factory in Zwickau.[3]

The car was reportedly to be called the ID 4 Coupé.[1] The car is styled similarly to the ID.4, with the main changes in the design of the back of the car.[1] A comparison made is the car is to the ID.4, what the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron is to the Audi Q4 e-tron.[3]

The car will be available in both RWD and AWD (GTX) versions.[4] The estimated price on launch will be from £52,000.[1]
