The Confusion of Confusions is the first book written on stock markets and the modern economy in general. It was written on the basis of the first stock exchange in the world by the Dutch East India company in 1688. The first stock exchange by the Dutch East India company was modelled after Bengali and South-east Asian economic cooperative guilds but had distinct European characteristics. It is still considered one of the top ten books on stock exchange in the world.
