Lawrence Isaiah Morris (born April 7, 1989) is an American author (6 published titles as of June 2026), technology professional, and entrepreneur. His work spans software engineering, enterprise technology, real estate, and business strategy. He is the author of A World Connected Within the Bounds of Interpretation (Book), A Unified Theory of Belief (White-Paper), Book of Law I (Book), Book of Law II (Book), The Intersection of Free Will and Finiteness (Book), Forgotten Wetlands (Book), An Engineer's Take on Yummy (Book) and has held leadership roles in technology-focused organizations.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

Early life and education

Morris was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.[8] He graduated as valedictorian from Ellender Memorial High School in 2007.[9] He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia University as a Chemical Engineering major in 2011[10] and later received a Master of Business Administration from the New York University Stern School of Business in 2016, with specializations in Strategy, Finance, and Technology.[11] During his time at NYU, he served as a teaching fellow in the Ethics Department under Professor Jonathan Haidt.[12]


Career

Technology

Morris began his professional career at Duracell, where he worked in modeling and simulation engineering related to battery design and manufacturing processes.[13] He later transitioned into enterprise technology roles involving business-to-business and consumer-facing software, data analytics, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and cloud-based system architecture.[14]

He has held senior leadership positions overseeing teams of engineers, product managers, architects, and consultants.[15] His professional experience includes work with both startups and established companies, including Ticketech, Sugar, 1010data, and Greystone.[16]

Real estate

In 2013, Morris founded LIM Real Estate Enterprises LLC, a real estate firm focused on residential and investment properties.[17] The company operates in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Los Cabos, Mexico.[18]

At LIM Real Estate Enterprises, Morris oversees investment strategy, property acquisition, and operations, with an emphasis on integrating technology into property management.[19]

Politics

As of February 2026, Morris is a registered candidate with the FEC (Federal Election Committee) for the 2028 United States of America Presidency [20]. His platform notes "I am a man of God. I will use my influence everyday to represent the voices of everyday Americans as well as our brothers and sisters about Mother Earth. I will advocate for policies that fix real problems. I will not and cannot be bought." [21]

Publications

Morris is an author whose writing addresses topics related to statistical reasoning, philosophy, and the relationship between science and spirituality.[22]

His first book, A World Connected Within the Bounds of Interpretation: Statistical Thinking, Spiritual Boundaries, and the Faith to Revise What We Believe (2025), examines the interaction between quantitative reasoning and belief systems.[23].

Morris has also published five other books:

Book of Law I - A Testament and Autobiography of My First 37 Years (2026), the second book in the 'A World Connected Series' focused on the key milestones throughout his life that shaped his world view [24];

Book of Law II - The Lost Years (2026), the third and last book in the 'A World Connected Series' focused on the periods of his life steeped in deep spiritual and emotional reflection, change, and awakening; [25];

The Intersection of Free Will and Finiteness (2026), the first book in the 'Spir-Sci Series' focused on building off of 'The A World Connected Series' and going deeper on the ramifications of both/and thinking in the realms of science and spirituality as well as their potential for deep macro-economical and political impact in current world events and technology [26];

Forgotten Wetlands - Beloved Cajun Mecca At Risk of Vanishing (2026), the second book in the 'Spir-Sci Series' focused on the plight of his homeland, South Louisiana facing politically motivated geological struggles that put the entire area at risk of land erosion and cultural losses [27];

An Engineer's Take on Yummy - The Chemistry, Spiritual Significance, and Mysteries of Foods and Flavors (2026), the third book in the 'Spir-Sci Series' focused on exploring the history, spiritual significance, and future of cuisines, foods, and flavors [28].

He has also contributed essays to academic and student publications.[29] His article Jena, Louisiana: A Different Perspective was published in Black Columbian, the Columbia University Black Students Organization magazine, in December 2007.[30]

Entrepreneurial activities

While a student at Columbia University, Morris founded the social entrepreneurship initiative One Problem At A Time (also known as 1PAAT) in 2011; the business stoped most operations shortly after fundraising $500 for the first non-profit, ELITE 501(c)(3), that they sponsored. Morris is quoted having had a hard time keeping up with full-time work responsibilities while managing the venture but he's stated he will consider relaunching it sometime in the future . [35] He was a finalist in the 2011 Columbia Venture Competition.[36]

Morris also co-founded the real estate property technology start-up Sugar with Fatima Dicko (also of Columbia University) in 2016; the company ceased most business operations in 2022 although the corporation, Jetpack Inc. is still active [37]

Morris currently runs and operates Lawrence I. Morris LLC as the publication arm for his books as well as the umbrella business for his endeavor AWorldConnected.Shop [38] the official digital storefront for the 'A World 🌎Connected' luxury lifestyle brand. The fashion and apparel business sells items on this official digital storefront under the brand name A World Connected named after his debut book by the same name. 5% of annual proceeds are donated to a portfolio of 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organizations & Non-Governmental Organizations in honor of Morris's first venture 1PAAT (One Problem At A Time)[39].

Awards and recognition

In 2025, Morris received the Evergreen Awards Best New Author In the United States of America for Excellence in Literary Innovation for his debut book A World Connected Within the Bounds of Interpretation.[40] The same work was selected as a category finalist in the 2025 American Writing Awards .[41] as well as the 2025 International Impact Book Awards [42]

He was also a finalist in the 2011 Columbia Venture Competition for his social venture 1PAAT (One Problem At A Time) and was named a Class Fellow in the 2018 SoFi Entrepreneurship Program for his Co-Founder venture Sugar (Jetpack Inc.) .[43]
