The Certified Health Informatics Systems Professional (CHISP) is a professional certification accrediting individuals in the health information technology (HIT) profession.[1] The CHISP certification is offered by the American Society of Health Informatics Managers (ASHIM) for candidates who demonstrate skills in the following core competencies: clinical, communications, compliance/legal considerations, health informatics, information analysis, medical administrative operations, and technology. Its Industry Advisory Board is made up of 12 professionals who are experts in the healthcare and technology industry.[2]
