Lakewood University is an accredited non-profit online university located in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

Overview

Lakewood College was founded in 1998 by Tanya Haggins in Lakewood, Ohio. It was started by Haggins as an online college with programs in business, legal and medical fields along with a GED preparation course.[1] In June 2012 Lakewood College relocated to Cleveland Heights, Ohio to better accommodate the growth of its student faculty. In July 2020 Lakewood College was renamed to Lakewood University because of the new bachelor's and master's programs implemented earlier in the year. In 2020 Fortune recognized Lakewood University as one of the top 100 best small and medium workplaces in 2020.[2] Motivational speaker Eric Thomas joined Lakewood University in 2021 to teach a course in entrepreneurship and motivational speaking.[3]

Academics

Lakewood University offers online associate degrees, bachelor degrees, certifications, project management and a Master of Business Administration degree.[4] A General Educational Development preparation course is also offered by Lakewood University.[5]
