Lyro was a business-oriented social networking site founded in February 2007 and launched in April 2007[1] was a web destination for professional networking. It was a business-based alternative to other networking websites, which let users establish an online identity tailored to the customer's needs.[2]

Company information

Lyro's CEO and founder was Lief Larson.

Features

The purpose of the site was to allow registered users to broadcast their professional identity on the internet. Lyro used a digital business card format to store and display user contact information.[3]

Sites with comparable features

Various websites such as CareerBuilder.com, Yahoo! HotJobs, and Monster.com specialize in job search. Reputation systems are increasingly common across the Web. Ryze was one of the earliest online social networking sites to offer online business networking, but more recently business-oriented social networks, such as LinkedIn facilitate professional networking to one degree or another, either as native features or via third-party software application widgets. Many of the specific Lyro features (such as adding contacts and private messaging) are common web features.
