The Office for Health Promotion is an impending government unit within in the British Department of Health and Social Care,[1] which will lead national efforts to improve public health policy across England. It will be established in the autumn of 2021, when the UKHSA also becomes fully operational.[2]
It will take over the health improvement functions of Public Health England and that of NHS England,[1] as outlined in the transforming the public health system white paper.[3]
The body will focus on reducing the burden of preventable illness and disease on society and the healthcare system. It will explore how incentives and rewards can encourage healthier behaviour, with an explicit focus on the work of the Health Promotion Board in Singapore.[4]
