Partnership for Poverty Action (PFPA) is a non-profit NGO based in Nepal, which aims to create socio-economic opportunities to the poor, excluded and marginalized people and communities in Nepal.[2] PFPA was established in 2012 and formally registered with District Administrative Office (DAO), Kaski, Nepal.
History
PFPA was established on 17 October 2012, the day UN celebrates as an International Day for the Eradication of the Poverty. PFPA was established by group of educators, local human rights activists and community development professionals.
Ongoing Programs
Nepal Rural Tourism
Nepal Rural Tourism aim to promote rural communities as a destination for community-based tourism vacation. Nepal Rural Tourism aim to reduce rural poverty through home stays programs.[3]
Human Rights Campaign
In collaboration with other organization, PFPA runs various human rights advocacy campaigns in Nepal.
Sponsor a Girl Child
PFPA runs "Sponsor a Girl Child" Program in Nepal. The program aims to support girls from poor-economic background, especially from Dalits communities who can not continue their study because of their socio-economic status. Girl child sponsors commit US$1 a day to support education of a girl in Nepal. This program provide direct benefits to girls in Nepal ages from 8 to 16.
