The institution now known as the World Harvest Bible College began in 1907 as a Bible education group, was chartered in 1923 as the Indiana Bible Institute, and became Indiana Bible College in 1934. It adopted the Indiana Christian University name in 1940.[1] In 1988 it became part of Lester Sumrall Evangelistic Association (LeSEA Ministries) of South Bend, Indiana,[2] and merged with World Harvest Bible College in 1993.[1][3]

The school went by Indiana Christian University until 2014, when the board of trustees opted to return to its original name, World Harvest Bible College.
