AuthorShare is a method of collecting royalties on the sale of books and other media when the sale is second hand that previously did not incur royalties.[1]

Goods and services tax (GST) is charged on the sale of second hand books, including postage and packaging, at the rate of 10%.
Inflation
A book that may have cost $1 when originally published, may incur a higher second hand price of say $12 when allowing for inflation.
