Alfred is a free mobile app[1] that turns Android and iOS devices into home security cameras.[2] Alfred provides an alternative way for building home security systems by re-purposing spare phones and tablets. With old phones and the app,[3] users have live video feed from the camera device. The most common use cases include baby care, senior care, and pet care.
Alfred supports an unlimited number of camera and viewer devices as long as users log in with the same Gmail e-mail address.[4] In addition to streaming encrypted video, Alfred gives users motion detection videos when they are not watching, and sends them push alerts.
As mobile devices are more portable than IP cameras, Alfred can be set up easily in a mug,[5] or with tape.
