Appolition is an app was created by Kortney Ryan Ziegler, a social engineer with a PhD in African-American studies, to address the societal issue of people not being able to afford bail.
The app connects to an individual’s bank account. Whenever that person makes use of his/her debit card, credit card or PayPal, the purchase price is gathered together to the nearest dollar. The difference is contributed to the National Bail Out, an association of grassroots groups that post bail for people who do not have the money for it and would otherwise suffer behind bars for failure to pay as they await trial.[1][2]
