Background

Approval Studio is a web-based online collaboration tool created in 2017 by a US-based company with one of the development offices in Ukraine[1][2]. It is an app for automated online proofing developed as an alternative to more traditional means of design review such as emails, personal meetings, or calls[3]. The developers used the idea of similar internal solutions of big companies to make a proofing tool that is available for small and medium enterprises[2] and that would keep all design-related work accessible in one place[4].

Approval Studio supports seven languages[5] and is regularly updated[6].

Uses

Users can upload designs to the web-app and annotate them, then make a decision if the design fits the initial project requirements[7]. Approval Studio can be used in various kinds of projects that require review of visuals, but it primarily concentrates on graphic design, printing, and packaging[8] and can be used together with Adobe products[9].

Reception

The app received positive reviews on such resources as G2Crowd[10] and Capterra[11] and appeared in multiple design collaboration and proofing tool lists [12][13].
