Birdeye is an American B2B reputation and customer experience platform founded in 2012 with its headquarters in Palo Alto, California.[1]
Background
Birdeye was founded in 2012 by Naveen Gupta who served as the Chief Product Officer at RingCentral,[2] and Neeraj Gupta, who worked at Oracle and Yahoo as an engineering architect.[3][4]
In 2015, Birdeye received a total of $8 million from a series A funding round. The round was led by led by Trinity Ventures, Marc Benioff, and Jerry Yang.[5][6]
In 2017, Birdeye received $25 million from a Series B funding round led by World Innovation Lab (WiL) with additional funding from Trinity Ventures.[7][8] In 2022, Birdeye received $60 million of a Series C funding round led by the American technology-focused company, Accel-KKR.[9] Birdeye has received $93 million in total raised via venture capital funding until 2022.
In 2021, Birdeye introduced a messaging system that allowed businesses to connect with their customers via texting and video chat on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.[10] The company was the finalist in the SaaS Awards in its sixth year of software innovation.[11][12]
