The Electronic Credit Information Bureau (eCIB) captures credit data and provides online information about consumer and corporate borrowers to Pakistan 's financial services industry. The State Bank of Pakistan provides and maintains software for monitoring credit reports. All the financial institutions in Pakistan are required to have this software installed. A monthly process updates the reports at the State Bank end.
For financial institutions, eCIB is divided into two areas:
- Data Capturing System
- Data Inquiry System
The application can be accessed both over the Internet through virtual private networks and dialup connections.
