Exadel is a global software consulting, engineering, and product development company headquartered in Walnut Creek, California.

History

Exadel was founded in 1998 by CEO Fima Katz in Concord, California (San Francisco Bay Area).[1][2] In 1999, Exadel opened its first offshore development center in Moscow, Russia. The company opened new development centers including Minsk, Belarus, in 2003,[3] Ukraine in 2004, Lithuania in 2014,[4] and Germany in 2019.[5] In 2015, Exadel was one of the ten largest software development companies in the High Technology Park (HTP) in Belarus.[6] In 2017, the company transitioned its primary focus to big data, analytics, and business intelligence.[7] In 2021, Exadel was acquired by Sun Capital Partners Inc., a private investment firm.[8]

  • Polish software company AKME Software based in Szczecin (2016),

  • CPQi, a financial services company and provider of digital transformation, managed services and staff augmentation (2022),
  • Motion Software, a company enabling remote employment (2022),
  • Codete, a software development and IT consulting company (2022).

Products

Exadel launched Eclipse4Web in 2004 to provide the functionality of products like Struts Studio and ORM Hibernate Studio.[11] In 2004, Exadel created JSF Studio, a Web Integrated Development Environment (WIDE) for Sun JavaServer Faces,[12] and in 2005, Exadel Studio 3.0.[13][14] A proprietary JavaFX plug-in was developed in 2010 for creating and deploying rich internet applications.[15] Exadel creates and optimizes specific aspects of technologies including the integration of QA Automation[16][17] and Adobe Experience Manager.[18]

Exadel has built a number of open-source products including AEM-backpack,[19] AEM authoring toolkit,[20][21] CompreFace,[22] and Easy-ABAC Framework.[23]

RichFaces

RichFaces was an advanced UI component framework for integrating Ajax capabilities into business applications using JSF.[24] In 2007, Red Hat acquired RichFaces[25] and related Exadel products (Exadel Studio and Ajax4jsf),[26][27] and rebranded itself as Red Hat Developer Studio.[28][29][30]

Appery.io

Appery.io[31] is a low-code app development platform for creating hybrid mobile apps, web apps, and PWAs. Exadel launched the Appery.io mobile app platform in 2012 under the name Tiggzi and subsequently rebranded in 2013 with an emphasis on enterprise and business applications.[32][33]
