SLAY YOURSELF is a hybrid Turn-Based Role Playing and Puzzle Game released for web browsers. The game was developed using the Unity game engine, and was created as part of the 2023 Game Maker's Toolkit game jam.[1]
Gameplay
The game consists of three turn-based battles in which the player switches between an original body and a clone after every turn. The objective of the game is to keep the original body alive while slaying the clone.
Development
The game was developed in 48 hours for the 2023 Game Maker's Toolkit game jam.[1] "Jackachulian" and "threehalves" are credited as composers and coders, and "infinityJKA" is credited as the writer and artist. "threehalves" is also additionally credited for creating the game's logo. The game was released on itch.io as a free browser game.[2]
Reception
In July 2023, GitHub's monthly gaming newsletter awarded SLAY YOUSELF as the "Gamejam game of the month" and praised the game's strategy.[3] The game placed 377th place in the 2023 Game Maker's Toolkit game jam based on 127 player ratings.[1]
