Coleophora melanograpta is a moth of the family Coleophoridae. It is found in Japan (the islands of Hokkaido and Honshu) and China .

The wingspan is 11–13 mm (0.43–0.51 in).[1] Adults are on wing in July.

The larvae feed on the leaves of Quercus mongolica, Quercus serrata, Quercus dentata and Quercus acutissima.[2] They create a blackish pistol-shaped case of 6–8 mm (0.24–0.31 in) long. It is covered with light yellowish-brown felt. They feed on the upper surface of the leaves of their host plant, without making mines.
