Notocirrhitus splendens, the splendid hawkfish or mottled hawkfish, is a species of hawkfish found on tropical reefs of the Pacific Ocean from around Australia , as well as Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island, and the Kermadec Islands, where it can be found to depths around 10 m (33 ft). This species grows to 20 cm (7.9 in) in total length. This species is the only known member of its genus.[1]
