Yasykovia is a genus of ophthalmosaurid ichthyosaur, an extinct group of reptiles that resembled dolphins. Its fossils are known from the Volga region of Russia , being Tithonian (Late Jurassic) in age. It was formerly synonymised with Ophthalmosaurus.[2] The type species, Yasykovia kabanovi, was once considered a species of Ophthalmosaurus. Two other possible species, Y. mittai and Y. sumini, also exist.[1]

Species

Yasykovia kabanovi

Several specimens are known from both Kachpurites fulgens and Craspedites subdites zones.[1]

Yasykovia mittai

Y. mittai is known from both coracoids and the right scapula.[1] It was found in a Kachpurites fulgens zone.

Yasykovia sumini

Y. summini is known from the occipital bones, the anterior part of the vertebral column, coracoids, scapula, interclavicals, clavicle, and fore limbs.[1]
