The ocellated waspfish (Apistus carinatus) is a species of wasp scorpionfish native to the Indian and western Pacific oceans. It occurs at depths of from 14 to 60 metres (46 to 197 ft). This species is of minor importance to local commercial fisheries. Handling this fish can be hazardous as the spines of the fins are venomous. This species grows to a length of 20 centimetres (7.9 in) TL. This species is the only known member of its genus.
