Pseudochaenichthys georgianus, the South Georgia icefish, is a species of crocodile icefish only known the northern Antarctic Peninsula and the Scotia Sea. This demersal species occurs from surface waters to a depth of 475 metres (1,558 ft).

The South Georgia icefish is a dark greyish-green species with blackish first dorsal and pelvic fins. The pelvic fins have white outer borders. This species grows to a length of 60 centimetres (24 in) TL; a more common length is 50 centimetres. It is thought to mature at 42.5 cm. The maximum published weight of this species is 2.1 kg (4.6 lbs). Adults of this species feed mainly on krill (mostly Antarctic krill) and fish (mainly channichthyids and nototheniids) . This species is a synchronous spawner and spawning takes place in autumn, with the eggs hatching from August to October.[1]

This species is of minor importance to commercial fisheries, being a regular bycatch species in trawls.

This species is the only known member of its genus.[2]
