Metasilicates are silicates containing ions of empirical formula SiO2−3. Common stoichiometries include MI2SiO3 and MIISiO3.
Common compounds containing metasilicate anion are:
- Metasilicic acid (hydrogen metasilicate)
- Sodium metasilicate
- Calcium metasilicate
- Barium metasilicate
