Hildegard is an ancient impact crater in the southern far side of the Moon, northwest of the larger Planck.

Hildegard is an ancient crater of Pre-Nectarian age that was filled by lava in the Nectarian period, at about the same time as the formation of the Ingenii basin and the Leibnitz basin.[1]

The crater's name was adopted by the IAU in February 2016.[2]

Satellite craters

By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to Hildegard.
