Aspergillus montevidensis is a species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus. It is from the Aspergillus section.[2] The species was first described in 1931.[1] It has been reported to produce apolar indoloterpenes, asperflavin in few isolates, auroglaucin, dihydroauroglaucin, echinulins, epiheveadrides, flavoglaucin, isoechinulins, neoechinulins, and tetrahydroauroglaucin.[2]

Growth and morphology

A. montevidensis has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
