Caloreas venusta is a moth in the family Choreutidae.[1] It is found in Central America.

Taxonomy

Caloreas venusta was described, under the name Porpe venusta, by Thomas de Grey, 6th Baron Walsingham, in 1914.[1] It is placed in the family Choreutidae, the metalmark moths.

Distribution and habitat

This species is known to inhabit regions in Central America. Observations have recorded its presence in high-altitude areas, such as Peekaboo Gulch in Chaffee County, Colorado, at elevations around 12,000 feet.[2] The moth favors open, sandy habitats, which are characteristic of xeric environments.
