Channichthys mithridatis, the green icefish, is a bathydemersal species of crocodile icefish found only near the Kerguelen Islands in the Southern Ocean at depths of 250-310 m (820-1020 ft). It is a slender species with a dark-green to light olive body, darker head, white anal fin and dark greenish to grey dorsal spines.

Described in 2008, this species is similar to Channichthys irinae, but has fewer and shorter rows of gill rakers, is larger (43.7 cm max. TL in C.mithridatis compared to 25.7 cm max. TL in C. irinae), has more dorsal spines, and is piscivorous (fish-eating) while C.irinae mainly feeds on plankton.[1][2] It is of no interest to commercial fisheries.[1]
