Eulithis xylina, the northwestern phoenix moth, is a species of geometrid moth in the family Geometridae. It is found in North America.[1][2][3]
The MONA or Hodges number for Eulithis xylina is 7207.[4]
Range and Habitat
Western North America, from Alaska to California and east as far as Colorado and in the boreal forests of Alberta and into Saskatchewan.[5] The majority of sightings are west of the Cascade mountains in British Colombia, Washington and Oregon.[6][4] It inhabits mesic deciduous and mixedwood forests.[5]
Host Plants
The larva feeds on a wide range of broad leaf trees and shrubs including: Alder, Azalea, Cinquefoil, Cottonwood, Crab Apple, Current, Huckleberry, Ninebark, Ocean Spray, Red Osier Dogwood, Rose, Serviceberry, Snowberry, and Willow.[5][7][8][9]
