Graphania insignis is a moth of the family Noctuidae.[1] It is endemic to New Zealand.[1]

Taxonomy

This species was described by Francis Walker in 1865.[2] In 2019 Robert J. B. Hoare published a paper in which he undertook a major review of New Zealand noctuids. Hoare, having inspected the type specimens of this species, placed it within the genus Ichneutica.[3]

Host species

Recorded food plants of the larvae include Pinus radiata and Pseudotsuga species.[citation needed]
