Hyperborea is a monotypic tiger moth genus in the family Erebidae. The females are brachypterous (have reduced wings). The genus contains only one species, Hyperborea czekanowskii, which is found in the Russian Far East (Nzhnyaya Tunguska river, northern Yakutia, Kolyma river, Koryakia, Chukotka, Wrangel Island, Kamchatka, Stanovoi, Udokan) and Alaska. Both the genus and species were first described by Grigory Grum-Grshimailo in 1900.[1]
The wingspan is about 37 mm.[2]
