Japalura luei is a species of lizard endemic to Taiwan.[2][3] It has only been found in the mountains of Yilan County and Hualien County at elevations of 900 to 1800 m.[4] Its length reaches 27 cm. It is oviparous.[5] The name of the species comes from the name of Kuang-Yang Lue, to honor his contributions to the herpetology of Taiwan.[2][4] It is listed as a rare and valuable species in the Taiwan Wildlife Conservation Act.[5]
