The little conger (Gnathophis longicauda, also known as the little conger eel or the silver conger[2]) is an eel in the family Congridae (conger/garden eels).[3] It was described by Edward Pierson Ramsay and James Douglas Ogilby in 1888, originally under the genus Congromuraena.[4] It is a marine, temperate water-dwelling eel which is endemic to Australia , in the Indo-West Pacific. It dwells at a depth range of 2–99 metres, and inhabits the continental shelf and slope.[3]
