Soergelia mayfieldi, or commonly Soergel's ox,[clarification needed] is an extinct species of ovibovine caprine. Although initially placed in the genus Preptoceras, it was moved to the genus Soergelia by C. R. Harington.[3]

Specimens include:

  • YPM VP 010920 (Holotype, found in Briscoe County, Texas)[1]
  • USNM PAL 304216 ("Soergelia cf. mayfieldi"; found in Jewell County, Kansas)[4]
