Tremella aurantia is a species of fungus in the family Tremellaceae. The common name of this species is golden ear.[1] T. aurantia is similar in appearance to witch's butter, Tremella mesenterica, but has basidia which are stalked instead of sessile[2] and parasitizes the mycelium of Stereum hirsutum instead of Peniophora.[3]

The bright yellow fruiting body is up to 10 cm in width.[4] The spores are pale yellow.[4]

The species is edible but without flavor.[4]

Similar species include Tremella foliacea, Calocera cornea, C. viscosa, Dacrymyces capitatus, D. palmatus, and D. stillatus.[4]
