Occurrence
2-Methylhexadecane has been reported in several plants including Capsicum annuum, Panax ginseng, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Zanthoxylum zanthoxyloides, and Astilbe chinensis.[1]
It has been identified as a metabolite of cyanobacteria such as Microcoleus vaginatus.[2]
