iGenius is a data analysis, business intelligence and software company that uses artificial intelligence and natural language processing to offer data-driven decision making that helps users to extract value from their business data.[2]
History
iGenius was founded in 2016 by Uljan Sharka, a former consultant at Apple Inc. The company has offices in Milan, California, London and Switzerland.[3] During the initial stage, it created crystal alpha which was presented at Cannes Lions Innovation. After a few months, a beta version was launched at the TechCrunch San Francisco.[4][5]
crystal is an AI advisor for data intelligence that makes business data accessible and plugs the data skills gap.[6] It puts siloed and complex data into one conversational interface which helps to gather data-based insights via voice or data visualizations.[7] These insights make advanced connections between data sources with the help of machine learning, and improves responses with advice and proactive notifications.[1]
Background
In 2016, the company was named as one of the top 10 Artificial Intelligence companies to invest in Web Summit, held in Lisbon. In the same year, it took part in the TechCrunch London 2016 Hackathon.[8] In 2017, iGenius was named as one of the top 8 startups in Startup Grind by Google for Entrepreneurs held in Redwood City, California.[9] It was also selected by Facebook’s Accelerate program for thriving startups.[10] In 2018, it was selected for the Google Cloud Platform case study for top use of machine learning, cloud technologies and fast data retrieval.[11][12]
In 2019, it won an Innovation Award with Enel[13] and ranked as Top 100 European SaaS companies in 2019 by Accel.[14]
