The AMO-2 was a truck produced at the AMO plant from 1931 to 1932 as a replacement for the AMO F-15 truck, that was based on the Fiat 15 Ter, under a license agreement with Fiat and the Soviet Union. The license agreement with Fiat ended in 1931, so the AMO plant made an agreement with the Autocar Company, to produce the Autocar Dispatch under license, with the name AMO-2 name, since they were not ready yet to produce their original truck models.
The AMO-2 truck series had a capacity of 2.5 tons,[1] which was more than the original truck on which it was based on, however, it shared the same engine, but had upgraded axles and stiffer metal, to cope with Russia's harsh weather conditions. In 1932, the model was modernized as the AMO-3 truck model, and so not many AMO-2 vehicles were sold until production ended, with only 1,715 vehicles having been produced by that time.[2]
