The AMO-3 was a truck produced by the AMO plant from 1931 to 1933, as a modernization of the previous AMO-2 trucks.
In 1932 around 55 of these AMO-3 trucks were produced, but by September, that number had risen to 10,000 trucks.[1] One of the main problems with the truck was that valves and bearings were made of substandard material and broke.[1] When the AMO plant was modernized as ZiS (Zavod Imeni Stalina), the intended replacement for the truck, that was going to be produced under the AMO-5 name, was modernized and re-branded to the ZIS-5 truck.
