Fixed-wing UAV
BCMS is a fixed-wing UAV developed by BCMS mainly for aerial photography and cinematography applications. The general designer of this UAV is a high school freshman, Mr. Lu Yan-Jie (卢彦杰), and the development took two years to complete with a development cost in excess of ¥15000. This UAV is mainly designed as a cheaper alternative to existing UAVs performing the same mission. In comparison to other UAVs developed by corporations with a price tag of several hundred thousand ¥ for a single UAV, the BCMS UAV costs only ¥8000. Imaging information can be transmitted in real time.[1]
BCMS UAV follows a conventional layout with a high wing configuration and tricycle landing gear, with propulsion provided by a two-blade propeller driven by a tractor engine mounted in the nose. BCMS UAVs produced by the school-owned factory have been used by local business for aerial photography of the surrounding land.
Specification:[2]
- Ceiling (m): 1307 m
- Endurance (hour): 1 hour
- Speed (km/hr): 80 km/hr
- Remote control radius (km): 10 km
- Unit cost: ¥8000
