The Horch 830 was a luxury vehicle produced by Horch from 1932 to 1941, as the company's successor to the Horch 8 vehicle. A total of 11,625 Horch 830 vehicles were produced until 1941, after which production stopped as the Second World War made clear that civilian vehicle production would need to stop until the war ended.
The vehicle had a V8 engine, which was later used in the PanzerspƤhwagen Sd.Kfz. 221 armored vehicles, although it was slightly modified. In 1934 a facelifted version called the Horch 830 B started getting produced which had an updated engine, which made more power than the older engine, but made the vehicle considerably heavier. The chassis of the Horch 830, along with its modernized engine were used to build the Horch 108 "Type 40" military vehicle, which was used by the Nazi army alongside the Volkswagen Kubelwagen. In 1938 Auto Union started producing the Audi 920 as a replacement for the Horch 830 vehicle, although the production of the 830 outlasted the 920, which ended production in 1940, while the 830 ended production in 1941.
