Engineering:Strippo

From HandWiki

A strippo is an automobile with little comfort equipment, cheap visual parts and an easily tunable engine. Manufacturers sell these stripped-down versions of their models at a much lower price than a standard model, sometimes for a loss, to prevent racing teams and tuning fans from spending money on parts they will immediately remove from the car.

Elements that are typically absent from strippos are sound systems, air conditioning, power windows and mirrors, rear wipers and high center stop lights. They also feature steel wheels, little or no soundproofing material and sometimes unpainted bumpers and mirrors.

Examples of strippos are the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution RS, the Subaru Impreza RA, the Toyota GT 86 RC, the Scion tC Spec Package and the Peugeot 106 Rallye.
