Romeo file system
From HandWiki
Short description: Extension to the ISO 9660 CD-R/CD-ROM standard
Romeo is an extension to the ISO 9660 file system for optical media such as CD-ROMs. It was developed by Adaptec and allows the use of long filenames up to 128 characters. However, Romeo is not backwards compatible with ISO 9660 and discs authored using this file system can only be read under the Windows 9x and Windows NT platforms, thus not allowing exchange of files between those operating systems if non-Roman characters are involved (such as Arabic, Japanese or Cyrillic), for example ü becomes ³.
