Social:Breadcrumbing
From HandWiki
Short description: Form of manipulation
Breadcrumbing is a colloquial term used to characterize the practice of pretending interest sporadically and behaving as if one is genuinely engaged in a relationship with another person when, in reality, they are not. It is regarded as a type of manipulation and can be either deliberate or unintentional. Breadcrumbing can occur in familial relationships and the workplace, but it is more prevalent in romantic contexts, particularly with the surge of online dating. In this digital landscape, it becomes easier to provide brief spurts of affection.[1]
