A.D. 2083 is a video game released in arcades in 1983 by Italian company Midcoin. The game is a multidirectional shooter that takes place over a horizontally scrolling background where the players's ship can move in eight directions, similar to Time Pilot. There is a pseudo-3D quality to some transitions, with ships flying out of–or into–the background.
Gameplay
The player controls a Space Shuttle-like ship with an 8-way joystick and a fire button. Enemies continuously fly into the playfield, and the goal is to stay alive until a certain number of them have been destroyed. The side-view landscape is purely part of the background cannot be collided with or interacted with.
