Kentico CMS is a web content management system (WCMS) for building websites, online stores, intranets, and Web 2.0 community sites. Kentico version 13, the most recent version, was released on October 27, 2020.

History

Kentico CMS is developed by Kentico Software. The company was founded in 2004 by Petr Palas[2] and is based in Brno, Czech Republic. In 2008, Kentico opened its first US office and, in 2011, added an office in the UK[3] and a second office in the US. An Australian office was opened in 2012, and a Benelux Amsterdam office opened in 2015.

In 2010, Kentico Software was named the fastest growing technology company in the Deloitte FAST 50 contest in the Czech Republic with five-year growth of 1781%. Deloitte recognized it again in 2011.[4] Kentico has received industry recognition including the Red Herring Top 100 Europe Award,[5] DevProConnections Community Choice Awards,[6] IT Product of the Year Award,[7] and the EContent Top 100 Companies in the Digital Content Industry.[8]

Kentico CMS featured in the 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrants for both Web Content Management and Horizontal Portals. They were again featured in the 2017 and 2018 Magic Quadrant for WCM.[9] They were also featured in Forrester Wave™ for Web Content Management 2018.[10]
