Maddening Relapse is a 2D Endless Runner developed by British indie studio NAL Games[1] and published by Yoyo Games.[2] The game is the successor to madnessMADNESSmadness, Remaddening and Maddening, as well as a predecessor to Maddening Relapse 2 and Maddening Overload.[2] Maddening Relapse was launched in April 2015 for Windows PC, with plans for an iOS and Android release.[2]

Gameplay

Maddening Relapse is a single-player platforming arcade style game where the player aims to survive the longest time without dying. The player takes control of the character Madd Mann, a madman who must run around a circular world from a wall that constantly approaches from behind which also reveals new terrain. Obstacles that the player must avoid include spikes and gaps, both of which may kill the player. As the map is randomly generated, there are sometimes multiple paths the player can take, one of which may have a barrier that forces the player to backtrack and potentially get caught by the wall. If the player gets too close to the wall for a brief period of time, they will receive a short boost in speed known as a "Second Wind" to assist in escaping it.[1]

Music

The songs used for the game come from the album Not Even Once by the band Approaching Nirvana. Most of the songs are either shortened or extended mixes of the originals, but are still the same song.[2][3]
